Gnomoniella

Gnomoniella Sacc.
Index Fungorum number: IF2100; 28 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2020), 6 species with sequence data.

 

Asexual morph:  Undetermined. Sexual morph: Ascomata globose to subglobose, immersed. paraphyses deliquescence. Asci cylindrical, subsessile.  Ascospores fusiform, ellipse, hyaline, septate.

 

Type species: Gnomoniella tubaeformis (Tode) Sacc., Syll. fung. (Abellini) 1: 413 (1882)

 

Notes: Kirk et al. (2008) accepted 13 species in the genus Gnomoniella. Two species have been found in freshwater habitats and both were collected from Asia (Ho et al. 2001).
