Description from Holubová-Jechová and Sierra (1986) observed from a dead rotten trunk, not freshwater:

 

Sexual morph: Undetermined. Asexual morph: Colonies black, punctiform. Basal hyphae immersed or partly superficial, forming a dense network as a pseudostromatic layer immersed in the substratum. Conidiophores micronematous. Conidia muriform, oblong, ellipsoidal, ovid, mid to dark brown, smooth, 63–115 × 36–48 µm, rounded at their ends.
